Yannow, I'm sure we could do something like that in S2 using <form method="get"> (Or if we can't, we should bang on it with rocks until we can, but I'm pretty sure *wanders off* ah, got it. Does http://community.livejournal.com/s2howto/tag/*%20page%20arguments work with core2 as well?)
